Movier
It opens on tonight, near you. And the original-language filter is a switch on the home screen, not a note buried in a description.
What it looks like
Movier is an Android app for finding what is on at cinemas in Italy, with the original-language screenings first. This page describes what it will do. The first build exists — 2026.8.1, doing a deliberate half of it: what is on release in Italy, a screen per film, search, and a watchlist that tracks titles with no date yet. It has no showtimes, because there is no free, legal source for Italian cinema listings; the changelog says exactly what is in and what is not.
Movier is available from the self-hosted F-Droid repository, not from Google Play. Use the F-Droid badge at the top of this page to add the repository to your F-Droid client.
Frequently asked questions
What is Movier?
Movier is an Android app for cinema listings in Italy, built to put original-language screenings first. The first build lists films in release, with a screen per film, search and a watchlist.
Does Movier show showtimes?
Not yet. There is no free, legal source for Italian cinema listings, so the first build has no cinemas, times or version badges. See the changelog.
Can I download Movier?
Yes, from the author’s self-hosted F-Droid repository: the F-Droid badge on the home page adds it to an F-Droid client. It is not on Google Play.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account and no server of ours.
What data does Movier collect?
It asks The Movie Database (TMDB) for film data, sending the app’s API key, a region and language tag, and the words of a search. Nothing that identifies you is sent. See the privacy policy.
Which Android versions does it support?
Android 8.0 (API 26) or later.
